Be available in the morning to greet the crew, review the design plans with them, and discuss the installation timeline. Clear any materials from the areas in front where your battery and/or the inverter will go, as well as the area around your main electrical panel and outside meter. Clear your driveway of vehicles. Clear materials outside your house for easy ladder placement. -
Prepare in advance for your power to be off for a few hours or potentially more if you are having a main panel upgrade done. This is required to safely connect your solar to the power grid. The installer will go over the schedule and duration of the power outage on the morning of the install. Out of convenience to you, we do try to limit this to be as short and as safe as possible.
Provide your installation crew with access to your attic, main electrical panel, and bathroom, as necessary. Let your neighbors know you’re going solar and it might get a little loud. Consider your pets. Do what you can to make any necessary arrangements for your pets to keep them safe.
